Changes in El Salvador
Mayra Aldana (24, 1.70m) will represent El Salvador in Miss Universe 2011 in Sao Paulo, Brazil next September. Aldana was the first runner-up of Nuestra Belleza El Salvador 2011. Alejandra Ochoa, Nuestra Belleza El Salvador Universo 2011, will not compete in Miss Universe 2011 because she is suffering from a chronic respiratory illness.
By contractual obligations, the first runner-up of Nuestra Belleza El Salvador is the replacement of the winners, namely Nuestra Belleza El Salvador Universo or Nuestra Belleza El Salvador Mundo, in case they are not able to fulfill their duties.
